The Unit is examining copyright issues in the digital environment, with an initial focus on digital recording and delivery of live performances.

The Copyright Resource Centre of Australia at the National Centre for Australian Studies and Minter Ellison lawyers is assisting the Copyright and Royalties Unit through:

• Preparing reports assessing the digital delivery environment, both technical and industrial.
• Undertaking a detailed assessment of the copyright environment, for multimedia and other forms of art.
• Preparing a report on the current state and future directions of development of electronic management systems.
• Assessing the current industry perspective relating to online interactive multimedia.
• Preparing copyright guidelines for the performing arts community
